Swanage & Wareham Ladies (II) 1 - 1 Romsey (IV)
Swans faced a 15-strong team from Romsey on Saturday who sat just below them in their division. This results means that Swans remain in 2nd place with Romsey 3 points below.
The game started with the intensity that was expected from these top teams. Within the first ten minutes the away side made the breakthrough from a short corner, wrong footing Swans keeper. Both sides showed their determination for the rest of the half but couldn't score any more goals before the break.
The battle continued into the second half with Swans digging deep, successfully defending numerable short corners on the bounce. Six minutes from the end Swans won a short corner and after a well worked move between Jackie Barker and Liz Solomon, Nicky Brooke put the ball over the line on the post.
Captain, Yaz Unsworth, stated "I'm so proud of the team today, we dug deep, never gave up and fought to the end, producing a goal and another point to keep us in 2nd position".
