Swanage & Wareham (II) 3 - 2 Bournemouth (V)
After last week's win, the ladies 2nds took to the pitch with great enthusiasm which unfortunately was very quickly dampened when Bournemouth scored the opening goal. The fighting spirit however prevailed and Nicole "Bug" Deller found the back of the net for the equaliser with a blistering short corner goal. It was a very even game with each side producing chances but yet again the visitors snatched the lead just before half time.
The second half continued to produce some great hockey from each side with Swans showing determination to equalise. This was eventually rewarded when Liz Goldsack won a goalmouth scramble to put the sides level at 2-2. The spectators could sense that their team wasn't finished as they pushed more and more into the Bournemouth circle. 8 minutes from the end, Liz Solomon produced the winner, again from a short corner, leaving a very tense but brilliantly defended remaining few minutes. Captain, Yasmin Unsworth stated "I couldn't be prouder of the team today, everyone on that pitch fought so hard for a very well deserved result."
