The ladies 2nd team travelled to Eastleigh on Saturday, aiming to consolidate their 2nd place in division 2 of the Forest League. However, things didn't go according to plan in the first half.
Despite having the major share of possession, the team couldn't find the back of the net and much against the run of play Eastleigh snatched the lead just before half time.
After a lot of soul searching and an inspirational talk at half time, the team took to the pitch and within a few minutes, Poppy Maltby scored from a short corner. Liz Solomon scored two in quick succession and the team were firing on all cylinders. Solomon managed to complete her hattrick just ten minutes from the end of the match, producing a dramatic turnaround.
Captain Yaz Unsworth said "The team were amazing today and I’m so proud of everyone who played as we fought so hard for this win. We are having such a positive season and morale is at an all time high".
