Poole (II) 0 - 2 Swanage & Wareham (II)
Swans travelled to their closest rivals on Saturday and came away with all three points in this often feisty fixture. The visitors showed their determination right from the start, with the forward line being fed some great balls from the midfield. After 15 minutes Liz Solomon stormed down the wing and powered into the D, firing an impressive first goal past the keeper.
The game was fast and furious with both teams battling hard. However, it was the visitors once again who found the back of the net, when Solomon struck the ball so hard it looked like it would break the net, just before half time.
The game continued in this vein and Swans created many more chances which would have made life more comfortable for the management team, especially during the second half. The fact that the team kept a clean sheet was a great achievement, with all players soaking up the pressure but holding their structure until the final whistle. Newcomer Nicole Deller was unlucky not to score, as was Liz Goldsack, but there's always next week!
